One of the things that I am most thankful about God is the fact that He is relational and has made us to be relational too. My dear friends and family are so important to me and I rely on them a lot! Having a positive outlook and an attitude of encouragement is so important.
Today, on facebook, I read from several sources some scripture and words of encouragement that were just what I needed to hear! I put them all together and maybe they will be some encouragement to you too.
Hebrews 12:1 – Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. This verse has always had the “what is keeping you from being the best Christian you can be?” application put with it every time I hear it being used. A college speaker told us in chapel one day that although it was permissible to wear cowboy boots to run your marathon, it is not the best uniform. The boots would be hindering you in the race. Check yourself to see what is hindering you in the race God has planned for you. This is a great reminder for me and I often need to check through my heart and see what is hindering me. TODAY though, someone prayed “Lord, teach my children perseverance in all they do, and help them especially to run with perseverance the race marked out for them.” I cried because Rebekah has such motivation and perseverance. She inspires me and teaches me lessons about working hard and never giving up.
Jeremiah 32:17 – Ah, Sovereign Lord, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great paower and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for you. Luke 18:27 – Jesus replied, “What is impossible with men is possible with God. Just last night (this embarrasses me to tell you this) I told the Lord that my life was too hard for me. That is just what He wanted to hear. He never intended me to carry alone what He has given me. I need this reminder daily. That GOD is my strength. That He gives me the perfect portion to make it through each day. That each day I ask and He gives. Remember that old poem “Footprints in the Sand”? The man was sad because he thought God had disappeared during the tough times in his life, when in fact those were the very times God was carrying him. Thank You Lord that NOTHING is too hard for You!
