Kayla has been in VBS this week. They are talking about Joseph and his journey in Egypt. Now this is Joseph from the OT (interprets dreams, coat of many colors, etc) not Joseph from the NT (carpenter, Jesus’ earthly father, etc).
We were very seriously talking over the events of VBS and going through what their lesson was and what she had for snack. Well all of the sudden she says… “Poor Mary, I can’t believe her husband went to jail!”
It took me a minute to put the two stories together in my head and realize that she thought there was only one Joseph in the Bible. It took some convincing that there could actually be two people named Joseph. I even had to tell her that our Papa’s name is Joseph. “Really, honey, there are lots of Josephs!!”
Funny how she felt bad for Mary and not for Joseph the one in jail!
